NIH OAR Data Hub: Showcasing the NIH HIV Research Portfolio
The NIH Office of AIDS Research (OAR) coordinates the scientific, budgetary, and policy elements of the diverse NIH HIV research program, currently a $3.2 billion investment in more than 3,500 awards across 96 countries. The NIH OAR Data Hub leverages and synthesizes publicly available data about this broad portfolio to promote greater understanding of HIV research at NIH and to enable researchers and the public to identify awards relevant to their specific interests.
Engage with the six interactive dashboards linked below to explore awarded NIH HIV research projects by:
- research topic
- funding opportunity
- organization or principal investigator
- administrative ICO, funding ICO, activity, or funding mechanism
- all of the above
OAR updates these dashboards on an ongoing basis. Check back periodically for additional content updates and new visualizations.
Ultimately, this resource supports broader NIH efforts to:
- disseminate information about the HIV research portfolio and its impact.
- promote scientific transparency and public accountability.
- support and expand the HIV research workforce, including early career investigators and individuals from diverse backgrounds.
