The National Institutes of Health (NIH) provide a significant public investment in HIV/AIDS research. This investment requires substantial scientific coordination and management to avoid duplication and ensure research dollars are invested effectively across the NIH Institutes and Centers conducting HIV/AIDS research. This is the role of the Office of AIDS Research.
